Tony Bellew

Biography

Tony "Bomber" Bellew, so-called because of his aggressive power punching, is an English professional boxer and a former 3-time ABA Heavyweight Champion. Born in Liverpool, England in 1982, the Merseysider enjoyed a 40-7 amateur career before turning professional in October 2007. He trains out of the Rotunda gym in Liverpool, and is promoted by Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Sport. A former Commonwealth light heavyweight champion, Tony Holds a professional record of 24 wins, 15 by KO/TKO, 2 losses, and 1 draw. He also held the WBC Intercontinental belt after stopping Colombian Edison Miranda in the ninth round at London's Alexandra Palace in September 2012. Bellew is an avid supporter of Everton Football Club, and has been paraded on the Goodison Park pitch at half-time during a game. He enters the ring to the theme from "Z Cars", the same song that the Everton players walk onto the pitch to during their home games.
