Spottiswoode Aitken was born on April 16, 1867 in Edinburgh, Scotland as Frank Spottiswoode Aitken. He was an actor and writer, known for The Birth of a Nation (1915), The Avenging Conscience: or 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' (1914) and Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages (1916). He was married to Marion Dana Jones. He died on February 26, 1933 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
